December 5, 2006 Seminar Minutes and Presentation Download
The meeting was held at ISO in the Pavonia waterfront section of Jersey City New Jersey. Over 110 users attended this session which had a major focus on the new messaging architectures and environments being introduced to the Websphere MQ user community. We would like to thank ISO for donating the site location and managing the security for the attendees. We also want to thank MQSoftware for sponsoring both breakfast and lunch.
Benjamin Zhou, Enterprise Information Management, EAI Mercedes-Benz USA presented: "Despite ... Good practices still count". Which reviewed the important of good practices even though the current environments are more forgiving due to greater hardware performance and network bandwidth. Ben's presentation discussed that "despite" computing power growing, prices dropping exponentially, and memory becoming dirt-cheap, it's tempting to DIRTIFY not only our code, but also our design. He then presented some simple yet important good practices and common sense techniques that he employs when designing and coding MQ applications.
Eric Olson, Director of Training and Services, MQSoftware presented: Introduction to SOA Standards, ESB - Enterprise Service Bus. This seminar will take attendees through established best practices when planning and implementing an ESB.
Phil Coulthard, Technical Architect WebSphere Integration Developer, IBM Toronto Lab presented: WebSphere Message Broker 6.02 and Message Broker Toolkit - a new release of WMB Toolkit coming in December of 2006. Best of all, you will not need to upgrade your WebSphere Message Broker server to take advantage of these enhancements.
Stuart Jones, Business Integration Solution
Specialist, IBM World-Wide Team presented: Integrating the SIBus (WebSphere
Application Server) with WebSphere MQ. It will cover the
use & configuration of the MQLink, including considerations such as high
availability.
Dean Keister, Director - Business Integration,
Centerprise Services, Inc. presented: See how Wachovia has developed an
